I qualified as a counsellor from the University of West of England in 2007 and I have been working since then both for charities, primarily in the field of addiction and mental health, and in private practice. I describe my approach as Relational and Integrative, drawing both from a Humanistic perspective and from developmental theories. In 2012, I completed an MA in ‘Dance Movement Psychotherapy’, then worked as a DMP for few years with people experiencing mental health problems and addiction, as well as with children in mainstream education, adult with learning difficulties living in residential settings and older adults who were admitted to hospital due to dementia. These experiences really enriched me both on a personal and on a professional level.
Hello, my name is Palma and I am a counsellor with a passion for wellbeing. Welcome to my website! I hope these pages will give you a sense of me as a counsellor and as a wellbeing practitioner.
In the last 5 years I became more and more interested in holistic practices, studying and integrating core principles of yoga, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine into my personal and professional life.
I am interested in movement and creative expression as a way to reconnect with my inner self, recharge and relax. I have been practicing yoga for about 10 years, which helps me to keep focused and grounded and I enjoy having a creative project on the side to engage with, whether this may be painting, cooking or dancing. I enjoy hillwalking and feeling part of the land and community I live in.
I am based in Methven (Perthshire) and offer 1:1 counselling to adults and supervision (1:1 and group) to counsellors/psychotherapists from any therapeutic approach . My passion for wellbeing has led me to explore creative modalities and to integrate holistic elements into my practice. I offer 1:1 mentoring, workshops and on-going groupwork to all practitioners of the helping professions.
